Concept : “Time of resistance"
Residences enable artists to integrate their bodies and temporalities into moments of space and time. Residencies are about discovering how to belong to ourselves -
all works are in progress, all beings are being finalized, and all photographs are being exposed.
From time to time, one needs to take time to cross, to cross oneself, to be crossed. What are we crossing exactly?
Time projects me into another dimension when it separates me from myself. My story comes from the choices I make: choice to come here, among these trees and thousands of insects; choice to pass here and brush against existence.
The body is the first hint of death and therefore life. It is a visible, ordinary and correct space.
"Being" is a simple state of the body, such as singing, crying, laughing, or screaming. It is a natural opening of the body and each individual has his own perception of it, his own self-diversion.
I'm in the present of what I perceive.
I imagine nothing. I am.
Cathy Pollini, written for La Villa Verte.
